DEFENSORIS ECCLESIAE
APOLOGIA DAVAO
Association of Catholic Apologists, Knights of St. Justin the Martyr
Association of Catholic Apologists
Afire with the Holy Spirit, and inspired with the courage and love of Saint Justin ー the Martyr, the first Christian apologist to study and love the Sacred Scripture and the Teachings of the Apostles.
Our Vision
We, the Catholic Faithful of Davao, forming ourselves as ASSOCIATION OF CATHOLIC APOLOGISTS (ACA), pledges to follow the footsteps of Saint Justin, the Martyr, to continue his apologetic mission, to study the doctrines of the Church that are contained in the Word of God, written or handed down in Oral Tradition, and defined with Solemn Judgement as divinely revealed truths either by the Roman Pontiff when he speaks 'ex cathedra' or by the College of Bishops gathered in a Council, or infallibly proposed for belief by the Ordinary and Universal Magisterium.
Our Mission
We also commit to provide Apologetic Catechesis which will enable Catholics to make a defense to anyone who calls to account for the hope that is in you,' (1 Peter 3:15) and lead to a mature personal commitment to the Lord Jesus and a living relationship with Him, the Father, and the Holy Spirit.
Ministries

Ministry of Service
The Service Ministry focuses on serving the wounded, the abandoned, and the lost. Its fundamental aim is to bring the Church’s merciful gaze and loving embrace to the peripheries – as the Church is a field hospital where the spiritually wounded are embraced and restored in Christ.

Ministry of Formation
The Formation Ministry focuses on the spiritual formation of the faithful, especially the members, as regards to education on faith, morals, and worship. Its fundamental aim is to hone the faithful’s spiritual life through education on faith and morals and through the execution of the disciplines and worship of the Church.

Ministry of Social Communications
The Social Communications Ministry focuses on two things: (1) reaching the people searching for education yet cannot come to any ACA chapters and; (2) making educational resources available and accessible for faithful and non-faithful alike. Its fundamental aim is to reach people who are unable to reach the organization and/or people whom the organization cannot reach – the message of love and goodness must reach the peripheries, let the light of Christ conquer their darkness.
Our Patron Saint

St. Justin Martyr
"We are slain with the sword, but we increase and multiply; the more we are persecuted and destroyed, the more are deaf to our numbers. As a vine, by being pruned and cut close, shoots forth new suckers, and bears a greater abundance of fruit; so is it with us."
Biography
St. Justin Martyr was considered the best 2nd Century Father of the Church. He was born in Flavia Neapolis 100 A.D. in a Pagan family when 30 years later at 130 A.D., he converted to Christianity, shared its teachings and defended the Christian Religion throughout his entire life in Asia Minor and Rome. He died of Martyrdom on 165 A.D. but his works have become principal sources for the history of the early Catholic Church. Examples of his works are the two apologies and the dialogue with Trypho.
